After debating what to do on our second day in the Dolomites we were persuaded to hike the Adolf Munkel Weg along the base of the Geisler Group, making a loop from the end of the valley and aiming for a mountain lunch at the Gschnagenhardt Alm.

Worries a bit about rain, we need not be. It was warm, but not hot, and the vistas ahead were incredible the entire day. Rapidly changing light as clouds moved in and out of the peaks mean alternative cool and warm light, and changing landscapes went from moonscape, limestone scree, to moderate elevation, scraggle, to deep green meadows dotted with spring flowers.

Not a thing to complain about except not enough time for a week's more in the mountains.
