After an evening arrival, we set out the next morning on a mission to find farmer's boots (leech avoidance), swing by the monument (Monas), and take in the city.
Altogether it was a welcoming, friendly day. Jakarta, a city that a year before seemed frenetic and choking, felt calm, clean, and cool. Nothing to complain about.
Farmer's boots acquired too: 70,000 Rupiah at Pasar Senen.
