After a few delays, three of us finally got our first day on the slopes-- and a great first day it was. In an attempt to escape the craziness of election day, we-- all ex-pats, all having cast our absentee/overseas votes-- headed close to the Austria-Italy border for a little off-piste skiing.
We got crust. We got powder. We got steeps. We avoided crevasses. And our un-used skiing legs delivered. All at just under 11,000 feet above sea level, where the altitude was already kicking in with a little dizziness, a random leg wobble, and a light headache.
