"Then it’s on to the cathedral’s dark medieval crypt. In the shadows beneath the cathedral’s apse, among stone sarcophagi and altars illuminated by weak rays of light streaming through small windows, there is a granite statue of the bearded giant known as Finn, wrapping his arms around one of the crypt’s support columns. Local legend tells of a challenge that Finn put to the man overseeing the construction: guess my name before the cathedral is finished, Finn said, or you will owe me your eyes. The man feared he would lose the bet, until one day he overheard the giant’s wife call out Finn’s name. Finn, enraged by the discovery of his name, was turned into stone the moment he grabbed a pillar to tear it down."
